The Department of Mathematics and Statistics is one of the foundation Departments in the School of Pure and Applied Sciences of the Federal University of Technology Ikot Abasi, Nigeria. The Department for now, only offers degree in Mathematics and Statistics that equips one with the requisite skills for developing and implementing mathematical methods. The course provides a fascinating combination of deep and mathematically well-grounded method-building and wide-ranging applied work with data. In addition to the degree programme, the Department offers service courses to School of Computing, School of Engineering and Departments in Biological and Physical Sciences. The Pioneer Head of Department is Dr. Julius C. Nwanya.
